Assessments

Functional Capacity Assessment  - what is this?

A thorough functional capacity assessment is used to identify your areas of strength and skill as well as areas of difficulty or impairment in all areas of daily living.

Appropriate outcome measures will be completed during your assessment and repeated at a later date to track your progress towards your goal achievement.

Following your assessment, a report can be provided on request for multiple purposes including NDIS access request reports, NDIS plan review reports, Change of Circumstances reports or funding justification for other funding bodies such as iCare.

Other types of assessments available:

Seating and 24hour positioning

A postural assessment is essential to identify your unique postural and seating needs when prescribing any manual or power seating options, seating systems, custom armchairs or sleep systems. Following your assessment and MAT evaluation, a collaborative approach is taken to ensure that your goals are in line with any prescribed seating solutions.

Ergonomic and/or Environmental assessment

Ensuring that your work and/or home environment supports you to participate to your highest level.

Cognitive assessment

Changes to your thinking and learning are common following a neurological event such as a brain injury or stroke as well as gradual changes in other neurological conditions.

A functional assessment may identify that your ability to complete instrumental activities of daily living or participate in hobbies is impaired. However, a standardised cognitive assessment can help to further identify the specific parts of your cognition that are impacted and a more tailored approach to your functional rehab goals be created.

Handwriting and fine motor skills

Regain or refine fine motor skills for handwriting and/or grasp and release following a neurological event or neurodegenerative diagnosis.
